Removing Stock Docking bracket Support off a FLSTC?

I want to go solo and never go back to using the sissy bar.

How to?
Will the saddlebags still fit correctly or do I need extra hardware
after removing the side bracket supports?

Thanks for any help.

It should explain how to remove it in the service manual.

Thanks,
Good idea if I had one.
I do have a diagram of the entire set up.
That still does not answer my question.

If not you could just add a couple of washers the same thickness as the bracket.

The bolts that the saddlebags mount onto also have a threaded end that goes through the sideplate, the strut, the frame, and into a nut behind that all.

You can remove these bolts, remove the sideplate, then re-install the bolts - but they'll stick out of the nuts on the inside the same thickness as the sideplate. May not be a problem, but you may have to measure or someone else may reply - i.e. whether they'll touch the tire at full upwards movement.

You could always trim the bolts a little if they interfere with the tire...
