Default New Deluxe

Just got home with my new 06 Deluxe. What an awesome ride! Way different than my Sportster. Anyway, I am curious as to what can be done with the baffles on the stock pipes. My new pipes (Python) won't come in for a month, but I heard another Deluxe rider that just drilled holes in his stock baffles and they sounded awesome. Anyone know how I can achieve the same effect until I get my pipes? I see where there is a surface to drill through, but what size drill, etc? Anybody out there drill their baffles? and can you give me some tips. Thanks. I read this forum every day and the info I got here was what steered me towards the Deluxe. Very useful and informative. Thanks again.

Congrats on the new ride!!!! If you will be getting those new pipes soon, personally I would run the stocks as they are and give her a good break in period. That sound will be there when you get those new pipes....JMHO....Enjoy what ever you do!!!!!!

I agree with Bill. Leave the stock pipes on for now. Also, the front pipe on the '06 Deluxe has a catalytic converter in it, so you can't drill it. Just enjoy the ride and CONGRATS on a great bike!

Only the bikes made and shipped to the west cost have the converters, unless you live or buy your Harley in CA you can drill the pipes.

I thought the same thing, but I know someone that tried it here in Minneapolis and it had a converter in the front pipe. They found out after they had already drilled the back pipe ...
