Thought about getting a touring bike for over two years. Made the jump a month ago. Bought a used 2011 RK. Not into radios and infotainment - simpler for me. But, I will add a faing, same as I did to my fatboy. I still have the softail, hard to get rid of it...

we all get to a point that you've got your bike where you want it. Then the new shiny big toy comes out and since you're not doing anything to your perfect bike, you get bored with it and want the new shiny one that you can make into your next perfect bike for you.

If your Heritage is paid for, why not keep it? Aside from insurance, it doesn't cost you anything.

That way, when you get your new RGS, you'll have another ride for when you have a little project underway!! Haha.

Seriously though, if you can swing it, the RGS would be a great addition. I love my Road Glide, and can't ever see myself without it in the garage. But my Softail Springer is the same way. It's a totally different kind of ride and I like being able to mix things up.

I should also add - when you have a bike like a RGS in your garage, it can be your go-to bike for day trips, weekend trips, or even just regular out and about crusing.

Having that versatility is nice, because then you can do things to your Heritage that you'd never considered before. My Springer for example has a jockey shift on it. If it was my only bike, I would probably pass, as then I'd be on it 2-up. Having two bike really does open the opportunities for creativity.

If you can swing it, keep the softail and get a touring bike too.

I have both, love both, use both.....

I almost sold the '03 Heritage when I bought the '12 Limited. I am sooo glad I kept it!!

OP, you might wait a few years to see if HD comes out with improvements that you really have to have. Right now your Heritage is as good as anything out there.

My $.015.
