Okay looking for help on black and chrome fat spoke purchase for my 05 train. I have read mixed reviews on dna, ultima, demons, outlaw etc. Fact of the matter is just do not have the coin for ride right or that price bracket. I have read issues with chrome peeling over time and leaking. My sizes are 21" 2.15 and 18 8.5. any help would be great on this. going to buy one at A time over the winter as cash allows. Is it just a total crap shoot with all of them or are the problems just a couple of cases.Who seems to be the most consistant and best to deal with. I have come to value this site for the info I have recieved in the past. so let me no your thoughts.thanks again and Merry Christmas

I would sugest you look for a reputable indy shop that has been in business for a long time. My guess is that there are quite a few in NY. Go get their feedback on what is their best recommendation, and buy through them. Maybe it will cost you more, but it might save you a pile in the long run.
If it were me, I'd keep what came with the bike. The NT is a very cool bike, and since you're concerned about spending $1000-$2000 on wheels, I'd forget it. Whatever your bike is worth today with the stock wheels, is what it will be worth after you spend the $$ on some wheels.
thanks for the reply. Not sure what a indy shop is thinking it is my local bike shop.anyway here is a pic of the bike. It really deserves black rims, but with all the cash in it just may have to wait. thanks again.
It is a beautiful bike just the way it is. The "everything black" look is cool, but not as classic as your bike right now. I can see the black out look not lasting for decades like your current style. Enjoy.
Like others have said, you do have a nice bike. I also understand wanting to make it your own, with your own add-ons. If you don't plan on going with fatty spokes, then I would suggest just getting them powder coated. Obviously you would need to run tubes. It will be much more cost effective for you. I personally have DNA Mammoth spokes. I went with the "all chrome". I have seen many bad reviews about the powder coating with DNA. Good luck with whatever you choose.
