Im looking at getting a new fuel tank for a project on my bike.
Can anyone tell me if a fuel tank off a 2004 fuel injected Heritage will fit my 2008 Deluxe?
I don't want to buy it to only find out it wont fit or work.

Anything will fit with the right amount of ingenuity.
And a big hammer!

 

The fit is no problem, it does.
Internals might be different. Fuel pump and filter, things changed for 2006 on.
Check an online parts cattle dog between the two models you propose to employ.

I just changed a 2008 tank into a 2016 model, it worked, despite advice to the contrary.

Apparently I need a 08 - 10 tank to use the internal fuel pump from my original tank.

Jackafrica, what was needed/changed in the '08 to '16 swap? I bought a '09 custom paint set for a Deluxe off eBay last year. I would like to install it on a newer Deluxe. This will be a future project.
