has anybody done 2008 night train with just the 70t pulley?
I know it was said 2007 softail and newer...
I have at least 1 1/4" forward adjustment...
pls. I'm just eager
I loved this upgrade but now it time to calibrate the vss i have the tts software but not the adaptor. how do I go about changing the vss?
I'v tried updating the software. maybe i need an old version. can any on tell me how to cal my speed read out
2012 slim
stage 3
30/70 1-1/8 pulley and belt
I need to get this upgrade sorted out properly before bolting on bigger pots and better heads.
I'm not sure why you would need to get the speedo reading set properly before doing any other engine upgrade. This kind of upgrade does not affect the speedo reading at all.
Nevertheless, you may have to download your current ECM map to the tuner including the VSS value currently stored in the ECU. Not sure the TTS supports this feature, though (FP3 and PV both do). Then you have to alter the VSS value according to the description on page 1 of this thread and flash the map back to the ECU.
Hey guy I did this mod to my stage 1 96.and it worked great, gears are shorter and more up and go, now I'm doing a complete Hillside 107' build throttle body, stage 2 heads, woods cams, etc....my thing is, should I throw my 32 gear back in, as I want to be able to use this power? I don't wanna rev gears instantly, I almost can start in 2nd gear now with lil lugging of motor!!!!, Thoughts???? a gear will only go as fast as it ratio, if you put 400hp behind it you'll just rev it faster, you won't go faster? is my thinking correct?? or with build will I have more legs???? I think I need gear for that??? thanks guys....even if I just pop 32 in, leave the sprocket for now? THOUGHT APPRECIATED...time is of a essence
as of today, this is progress from my mechanic....we plan to send it all out on Monday, he's going into primary to do a heavy spring a Kevlar clutch w/extra spring....

you might wanna rethink that and save your money, wait to see my responses....the gears rev real quick with mod, so it seems like more TQ , not sure if it is, or seem of the pants?I know it defiantly made my bike faster , and I ride 6th gear every time on highway as before, I barely hit 6th, I'm 4-5th down streets loll...

Here's my thinking Tommy, and I think LA Dog would agree with me and hopefully he'll chime in, especially if he doesn't...I know from your thread that you plan on using Woods TW 6-6 cams with your build. With the TW 6-6s later intake close at 40 degrees, you wont be "on the cam" until 3000+ RPMs. I would think that the quicker you wind it up to 3K the better, and the 30/70 helps with that. If I was you, I would test it out after the build, and see what you think. If you think you need a change, you can swap to a 68T rear pulley for a 3% torque DECREASE. Just changing the front 30T trans sprocket back to the stock 32T would give you a 6% decrease, but I think even though your Rockers has a 133T belt, it may be too short for the 32/70 combo to work. If it didn't, you would have to swap to a 68T or 66T rear pulley for a 9% or 12%+ torque decrease, which may be too much!!

the woods cam come on a lot earlier than that, 1500rpm....and keeps on pulling, I'm worried about running out of gear, spending all this money, and these cams in a 107 Scott from Hillside Motorcycle NY, is well respected builder on here, I'm told there pull from 1500 all the way up, From Bob Woods as well, and it says on there site as well, where did you read 3k???

Honestly, I think with the stock gearing and this build, stage 2 heads, woods directional lifters...etc etc...the torque I'm told will be 125 or so depending, that should pull the stock gears no problem? than ill have all that gear if I'm feeling froggy someday! LOL....I just hate to spend all this money and crack the throttle and have to shift instantly, and again instantly, and again, and the bikes in 6th gear o n a 45mph road....get what I'm saying, my fear here? it would be essentially a WASTE OF MONEY http://www.woodcarbs.com/dirlifters.htm

See not 3k??, from idle up..Bolt in Street/Touring. Very strong from
idle through 5500 RPM. Light or heavy bike.
Progressive wound Bee Hive Springs/titanium something, forgot lol...bronze guides..
10-2 compression
.30 cometic gasket
getting built right, the final measurements will be made for clearance and if a lil off the top needs to be shaved, my mechanic has a FULL inc,shop...he grinds out spacers etc...I saw the tooling, he could bore the cases if I wanted him to, I'm just going with Scott for the experience factor......I think I see what your saying now, the 32 is larger it will pull the belt in DAMMIT!!!!iid have to go smaller sprocket,, sorry didn't grab that before...its getting quiet here now so I'm thinking...thanks for pointing that out!!!!

It's not just the Woods cam, it's the intake close at 40 that will move the torque curve further to the right, check out some dyno charts, and you'll see what I mean. The Andrews site says the 37H comes on at 2200, but you wont see that on the dyno charts either. There are a lot of cams out there that can give you some equally high numbers, it just a matter of choosing the one that puts your peak torque where you want/use it.
