I think you'll find the 96-103's are very different from the 88's. The way the trans and primary mount have a different bolt pattern so I believe. Might be cheaper/easier to rebuild yours to a 95"-98" with cams and head work. Plenty of good kits out there for this. Good luck mate. Let us know what you do in the end.....

2006 Deluxe, 95" with high compression pistons and manual release. Head work on my SE heads, 2" intake, 1.63" exhaust. Perfect fit pushrods, reaper 574 cams with cam plate and oil pump upgrade. Dynojet 5 auto tuner. 39" baffle less Samsons. SE 6 speed. It really lights off when I jump on it. Good luck.

When i Upgrade my 88 I will be doing a 95 kit. I wouldn't want to try a transplant of a 96. That would take a bunch of cash and some serious labor to get all that to work on the older frame. Way easier to change the pistons and jugs.. throw in some cams and tune it up. Can get some Nice hp/torque numbers with the 95 kits.
