Fuel gauge removal
I have an 05 Softail Deluxe, I purchased the flush mount fuel gauge and gas cap. The instalation instructions don't have any info on how to remove the gas gauge. I need instructions on how to remove the gas gauge. Any help or tips greatly appreciated!!

Under the left side (clutch lever side) of the tank, the gauge wires run back to a plug. You will have to lift the tank to get to it. Once you unplug the connector you have two choices, cut the wires or try to get the pins out of the connector. If you are going to ever re-use this gauge, make sure to leave enough wire for re-soldering if you decide to cut them.
After you have done either, just pull strait up on the gauge, do not twist, and it should just pull strait up and out.
