Took the bike out for the first spin in almost 2 weeks and decided to swing through the dealership. It was a burgers, dogs, and beer event, so I stuck around. Ended up test riding a Fatboy S and a Switchback (sorry for the softail forum blashemy).
Honestly, I wasn't overwhelmed with the motor in the S. I will say that with some work, it would be ridiculous, but straight off the showroom floor, what I've got in mine is stronger. Maybe I needed to ride it harder, but it wasn't my bike, and that's not how I role on test rides with a bike someone else will be purchasing. Aside from that, the bike was stellar. Forgot how much I missed a 6th gear. It was also nice to be on a bike that didn't necessitate ear plugs like mine.
I test rode a Slim S at a demo event last year (no burgers/dogs/beer, unfortunately) I thought the bike pulled really hard, and I can see why, apparently, so many people like it. Not the bike for me, though.
I haven't tried the 110" on any bike, so i dont know how it feels, but on paper my engine makes better numbers.
However, we've got to remember that stock, all of the twin cams are choked to hell to meet EPA emissions and such, so I'm sure like any TC once it's in your garage it'll be pretty wild.
Yeh I felt that way on the test ride but I was nervous to open the beast knowing I was going to buy it anyway and trying to keep the revs down till it was run in.
