Ok, need opionions on bars because I cannot decided. Obliviously they will be going on my Slim, reach isn't an issue as I'm 6'2". The only main factor I would like to avoid is that I don't want to be leaning forward if possible.
Question is, do I want more or less pullback?
Good choice going with the 12's for comfort. I bought 14's and they are a bit too tall for comfort. They look sweet but 12's would have been perfect! I'm 6'1".
Just an FYI.... you don't want your apes to match the angle of your forks or to exceed the angle more than your forks or they look funny. They don't need to be perpendicular to the ground but they should definitely not be laid back so much that they are at the same angle as your forks. JMO
As for pullback and what you should be looking for.... here's a good video that helped me take the measurements I needed to get my bars.
I'm 6'1 and had 14's on my street glide. I thought I wanted 12's but everything I read said go 2" higher then you think you want so I followed that advice. I just finished putting 16's on my heritage and while I haven't rode it yet because of the weather they feel great. I bought longer than needed cables so I can again go up to 18's after a while if I want higher.
