I know you guys are probably tired of ape threads but need some advice on height. Im goin with santee standard apes but dont whether to do 11" or 14". Im about 5' 10" on a good day and really concerned about comfort. I wanna be able to lean back a little or at least be straight up. I also dont wanna worry about arm fatigue. Which size do you guys recommend?
Personally, I would recommend the 14" over the 11". However, you should use the broom method (hold a broom out to where you are most comfortable and have someone measure the height - and width). I have 17" and 18" (6-0) while a friend who is 5-9 has settled on 14". Keep in mind the width and pullback are also factors to consider. SJ Ron
I took a shot in the dark and went with 16", 1.5" Gangsters. I am 5'10" and I have zero experience with apes. I hope I am right because I put a ton of $$$ in them because I am going with all internal wiring and cables which means I had to change my clutch system. I just had my chest cracked open, triple bypass, and I am concerned with comfort as well with being so sore and while on the mend. I am told it can take up to a full year to fully heal but that I should be able to ride after a few months. I hope so! The only thing I had to go on was advice from all those here who have gone before me. I have had guys here tell me that going to apes was the best thing they ever did as far as fit and comfort goes and had the other half tell me they just don't like them. I am anxious to see where I fit in at on this topic and mod.

I'm 5'8" on both good and bad days... and mine are 13.5" tall and the same width as the stock bars were.
I sent Bill the measurements I wanted with the knowledge that mine would be mounted in line with the front end.
I sit straight instead of leaning forward to grab the bars and they are slightly lower than my shoulders.
Go with at least the 14's. Every time I read someone debating the height issue it ends up with regret on the short ones and thinking they could of gone even higher on the taller ones. Either way taller bars are more comfortable IMO
