apes... again
Ok fellow riders,yes I am a newby to the site but I'm just trying to get some advice. I'm only 5'5 and was wondering if I should go with 14's or 16's. most likely going with the Nash mini gimps. It prolly doesn't matter but I'm riding the sportster 72' ... Thanks in advance

Best thing to do tho is find some guys with apes on their bikes and ask to sit and try em out
Slim, to follow up on my post, I pulled the Burly clutch cable I had on this weekend to swap in the Magnum and this is what I found;

The cable nylon sheathing (or whatever it is) was bunched up and pulled apart. I looked for anything that could have caught it and chaffed it but only found that it must have been chafing on the assembled cable end. It wasn't chafing on the trans cover. And FWIW, I put the new cable in and the pull is perfectly smooth.
Here's a link to Magnum Shielding. I am considering replacing my others with theirs as well, great quality stuff!
Good luck!

Go big. A few years ago I had never ridden apes before and put some 14's on my Road King. Loved them, and then after a while I wanted to go even bigger, so I did and put some 19" Carlini gangster apes on my bike, and I love it. I'm only 5' 9" and have no problems with them. Save yourself the trouble and $$ and go big in the beginning. Once you get used to it you will be glad you did and will never want to ride without apes again.
