hey yall, in need of some ideas and help. recently installed dna mammoth wheels on my 05 softail deluxe. 21 inch in front 16 in rear. however when I rode it after the install my front brake was a lot harder to pull, and now has a vibration with a horn sound when I try to stop. all of my spacers went back in the same way they came out. something is definitely not right and I cannot figure it out for the life of me. any advice would be great thanks.
The hub sizing maybe a slightly different width to the original wheel.
You need to check that the caliper is aligned properly on the rotor (Centered & running true) otherwise when you apply the brake, the pads are being pushed against the rotor unevenly.
thank you tripwire! mine measures the same. however what is the spacer on the right side of the wheel if your sitting on bike? mine measures .519. so just over half of an inch. thinking that's where my problem lies. it is the odd shaped spacer the fits inside your dog bowl (or moon) on right side of wheel. removed the snap ring, took the spacer out of the dog bowl and re installed it. appreciate the feedback, let me know at your convenience.
quick update......i used feeler gauges between my pads and rotor. right pad i could fit a .010 gauge in between the pad and rotor. the left side i couldnt fit anything....
