Anyone tried modifying the slim to fit a fatboy seat?
Not sure about a fatboy seat, but I have a heritage seat on mine. The seat pan shape is a just a little different so the rear mount is a about an inch off the fender. I've seen some people make some kind of spacer, but didn't bother and just screwed the mount in flat with the fender. The seat pan is plastic and it just takes the shape of the different fender after a while.
Many seats will fit but might require you to drill a central hole in the rear seat mount to fit the Slim's single fender bolt hole - a 5 minute job!
The Fatboy seat will fit as will the heritage or the Deluxe seats - I have the Deluxe on my Slim and for me it's perfect
Also, go to your local dealer and try the HD reduced reach seats - there's a reduced and a super reduced. They'll put you further forward. Like the Fatboy/Deluxe seats you'll have to drill the hole in the rear seat mount but the dealer should at least let you place one on your Slim and sit on it (they should have demo ones for you to try)
I'm adding a Harley std. solo spring saddle this weekend I know that don't work for you cause it'll be higher. Good Luck on Search for the right seat, the search is half the fun !
