The upholsterer caught a virus and was out all week, but is back now and managed to get my seat pans refoamed. He wants he to check them on the bike before they get covered to make sure they are exactly what I need. So I figured since the shop is 25 miles away, it'd be easier to just bring the bike over there. So with my (two year old) assistance, I Fabbed up a new temp seat for tomorrow's trip.... It's gunna be 50, might even roll to work afterwards.

Wait a second! Did you cut the tags off of those pillows? That's illegal in many jurisdictions y'know.

Why yet go to the upholsterer? Seems like you're all done!

I had that same thought, but my wife refused to let me make her a seat that way.... plus I figured those seat pans I made deserve to be able to come out and play sometime

So after five weeks at the upholsterer, and 900 miles on my couch pillows, I stopped by to see if they were still in buisness.... the foam is successfully finished on both seats, the drivers cover is finished being sewn, and the passenger seat cover was being finished sewn, so they just gotta slap them on, so I should be able to pick them up Monday finally!
I've been thinking of having my seat reworked a bit. Can I ask what I might expect to pay to have that done?
about $250 range for good quality work. Vinyl leathers are less expensive and real leathers push cost up. main part of cost is re-foaming and re-shaping the seat. if you ever get down to West LA I found the absolute best place- http://www.newlifeupholsteryinc.com/ - Talk to Andre. Super nice guy, highly talented. A whole wall of material to choose from and books of other materials to order. Check them out on Yelp too their rep is solid.
