Put me on the list to buy any of those 1990's for that price! WOW.
Every time someone asks for value someone always shoots three grand below rough book and throws in "MAX".
I bought my 95 Evo Road King for $5k and sold it for the same. "Book value" was much higher (currently $11,200-$7,210 for Excellent or Very Good) and frankly is a useless figure in my experience. Show me a 95 Road King that sells for $7,200. They go for $5-$6 retail.
That first year Fat Boy with original paint and super low miles will bring more than $5k after looking at the pictures, if he's willing to go eBay to get national advertising attention, deal with shipping and fees and wait for the right buyer.

I'm impressed you were able to sell the rk for the price you bought it. Can't beat that.
I would think a bone stock 1990 Fatboy would bring in excess of $10K in the states and much more if you brought it to Europe. I'm with you, I'll buy that bike all day long for $5K. that thing is a classic/collectors piece.
Sixcarbs because I used to own a Ferrari Daytona for many years.
Thanks to all who responded here. I am going to sell something else and keep this. Hopefully bring it over here soon with my other bike.
I thought the market was around $15K, and closer to $20K for one in my condition and mileage. Maybe it is, maybe it's not, but I am not going to find out for now. Whatever it is worth, I don't think it is going down from here.
And after surfing this site the past few days I now have my appetite wet for a Breakout. So much for simplifying my life.
