Have no idea why HD did the ABS thng other than just another form of revenue for service. I want to trash it, clean the front end up.
Anyone else done this? Thinkin it's just a reprogram on HD's part once it's gone and brake lines run accordingly. Am I correct?
For you that challenge my imagination and wrenching > don't. Most of us went from drums to discs and were satisfied. I see no reason to spend unnecessary dinero in service and it would clean the front end up big time.
I think ABS is a great emergency feature. After being in a head on crash when someone was on the wrong side of the road, i can tell you no matter how much you practice threshold braking, in a oh Sh** moment, you are going to grab the brakes hard and it will save you from washing out the front end and also being able to control the bike and steer rather then locking up the rear end or front. I don't know what maintenance you are referring to either, i don't do anything different to my brakes that i don't do with regular non abs, i change the fluid every few years. What would it clean up in the front end. I have both ABS and non ABS bike, and my front ends are the same???

Go for it. Be the first on your block to remove it.
I would take ABS every time. The only downside I see is that you have to have a very expensive tool to change the brake fluid. So that might have to be a dealer performed service.

i totally agree with you i think you should remove the head light the clutch the brakes and the fuel line from the fuel tank too i mean why bother with all that crap right they just make our bikes so unnecessarily heavy yeah? I mean what the hell was Harley thinking when they put all these crap on our bikes.
