I picked up a Lepera Barebones solo seat over the winter for my 07 Softail. I love the looks of the seat but after a couple of hours I feel like I'm sitting on a 2X4. Does anybody have a good solo seat that's comfortable that they would recommend? I had a C & C on a Fatboy once and it was OK but I wasn't crazy about it either.
Why buy a new seat- take that lepera to a good upholstery shop and have them do it up the way that fits you. same if not less cost than buying a whole new seat. I think a lot of the members here like the Danny Gray seats if you just want to go with ready-made.

+1 on the modification route. There have been a couple of projects on here recently giving proof that you can reach nearly perfect results having a professional upholsterer customizing the stock seat. That will make it really yours in terms of comfort and looks.
Heritage seat is pretty damn comfortable....believe it or not
I just purchased a used heritage seat and plopped it on my new Fatboy Lo S and I gotta tell ya....my **** is pain free!! OEM seat for the fatboy lo is ok but this one is much more comfortable. I usually ride on Corbins but figured I would try this out. Surprisingly it is very comfortable. And only $160 vs 600.
Ride on.........

While I only have about 100 miles on my new C&C solo seat, my initial impressions are... it's OK like you mentioned and im good with that since I know I will get used to it and im more concerned how it looks versus comfort. And yeah, it's ok to me and that's good enough.
I wasted a lot of $$$ trying to find a good seat. Mean City does great work.
If you do not want to go that route, I had a Saddlemen that was the most comfortable of the several brands I tried
I was watching a saddleman on ebay last week, It sold for a little over $200. I may end up taking the one I have to the upholster and trying some different foam. To much good riding weather right now to be down.
