Default Early softie, rear wheel bearings loose on spindle

As it says^ got some play on the tapered bearing rear wheel, bearings look fine, feel smooth, but seem(are) a little loose on the spindle.

Should I buy a kit to use later non tapered bearings, a new spindle or what.

Cheers for any advice!
