i installed that same bulb on my old Triumph cruiser and it made a huge difference. unless, of course, you're looking to increase the size of the headlight itself. the stock one does look a bit small for its frame!

I think i'll try that bulb first and then swap out the entire headlight to something bigger if it's not enough. the daymaker looks about the same size as stock. (for the breakout) i don't know...
I got bit by a cheap LED bulb from eBay. Plus the halogen reflector is not designed for a LED bulb like the LED headlights are.

That said, folks do report a nice difference from an LED bulb, my suggestion would be to go with something that has been tried and successfully reviewed, I seem to recall DK Customs on this forum has some for sale and there are also threads with folks who have had good results. I would NOT suggest you buy the cheapest thing from eBay, I did that and it was a waste of money.

those bulbs are not cheap ebay stuff. the PIAA extreme plus bulbs are close to $60.00 from revzilla.com. I'm just not sure if they are compatible with the stock headlight housing on the BO. manual says it takes an H4 bulb. I have an extra one so I might just try it.

I've got a 80/100 watt Piaa bulb plugged into ceramic plug that throws out some serious light. Cost about 20 bucks

My black daymaker will be here on Monday. I am pretty excited. I've seen some of the blacked out bikes on the forums with them. They look amazing.

I have daymaker head and passing lights (flashed so they are all on at once) and they work 100% better than the stock halogen headlight. But only if they are Adjusted correctly.

Even with them and the CD led turn signals, and everything adjusted correctly, i find that i only ride 35 to 40 mph on the back country roads, just too many critters.

On the good secondary roads, 4 lane, 55 mph, i don't do any night time on the interstate, too many tire tread pieces and crazy cages.

Speeds i quote are because i want to error on the side of safety and not over drive my lights. because at faster speeds at night, you really don't have the 12 second scan/reaction time available.

I purchased a black Daymaker style light with a halo ring from Baggerbags.com. Looks to be brighter than the Harley Daymaker and the Halo looks great and have received a lot of compliments on it. Cost me 159.00. Great deal!

Default See and BE SEEN!

Many LED headlights cast a narrow beam which doesn't work well during daytime use. Most daytime accidents are caused by bikers not being seen.

Auxiliary lights of some type make a huge difference. Notice how well a Road King (even with stock bulbs) stands out during the daytime.

i did a side by side comparison with my friend's daymaker and my upgraded PIAA extreme plus white bulb and I honestly couldn't tell the difference. both are a huge improvement from the stock light. so for now i'm sticking to the bulb upgrade.

also noticed when I did the swap that there is a copperish metal cover attached to the housing that covers the bulb a bit. I wonder how much of a increase in brightness I would get if I removed that piece. (only held on by one screw) didn't try it but I will tomorrow. My old cruiser didn't have this setup when I swapped to a PIAA bulb. i'm sure HD has a reason for it but why aren't other manufacturers doing the same if it's that important?
