I want to get the Panhead-style tank badges for my Slim (61776-61T), but on the Harley site, the 'adapter kit' (61740-90T) fitment is listed only for the Fatbob tank.
Is it a different shape to the Slim's tank or are they much the same and it should fit?
HD will not list fitment for bikes other than what the part was originally made for. this does not mean it won't fit other bikes. For example the tank badges on my Breakout are not listed as fitting the Breakout. Sometimes you have to just buy the part and see if it fits. I've never had a problem returning a part to my HD dealer if it is unused w/ receipt.
Yeah, I hear you - I know this is small-time stuff, but thought I'd just check if anyone knew - always nice to know what to expect before you open your wallet
Adapter kit is a stick on.
Worst thing that happens is the badge edge being a little proud of the tank.
Due to different tank profiles.
It's not noticeable unless you're keenly looking.
The screws for the badges are incorrect, they were slotted originally.
They do look good and probably the most popular of the old model solid badges.
