Stuck Fuel Gage Fix
Hello, after 3000 mi of trouble free riding I now have a stuck fuel gage on my 05 softail standard. I have been reading that this is a common problem. Has anyone fixed this problem without going to the dealer and if so what is the procedure?

I took mine to dealer. warranty. Some day I might figure it out my self when i have to. I do us the (b) trip meter to see how far Ive gone since last fill up. usally by 225 miles I know i need to fill er up again.

same with mine, dealer fixed it. here is how.
the rod that the float is on is a little long, it gets hung up on the tunnel.
take the rod out, and trim the end off a little. thays how I was told it was done anyway.

It requires bending the fuel guage arm inside the tank for clearance so it doesn't hang up. You have to open up the plate on FI models and remove the sending unit on carbed models. use a new gasket and new screws when reinstalling as they have a sealant on the screws.
