I have a 99 bagger that fogs the fuel guage when I wash it or park it outside . It does clear out but I'm sure it will screw up the guage over time. Any suggestions?
I was told the same thing when I questioned my HD service shop about the SPEEDO. My fuel guage has never done it.
On a side note about the fuel guage, I find mine to be almost dead-on. In all my infinite wisdom I decided to change my stock fuel guage to the Kuryakyn electronic fuel guage with battery indicator and matching gas cap because of looks. Well I'm here to tell you that even after talking with Kuryakyn developers about the GROSS exageration of the accuracy of the fuel guage and getting no-where, it's been taken off and replaced with the stock fuel guage. At least I know it's right! Anyone want a matching kuryakyn fuel guage and gas cap with the cap key? over $100 new, ship it to you (in the US) for $50.
as for warranty on fogging on newer modles harley says if its not a visable problem on speedos there is nothing to do because it will clear up it sounds bad but i have had tech service tell me to take a blow dryer to it. on the older modlels i've herd of people drilling a 1/8 or 1/16 hole in the bottom of the gauge it helps but i've never done that at the dealer ship so not to sure if it will work that good...
