Default My Softail build

Hi guys just thought I'd throw a few pics of my build up. Which started of just going to be a 200mm rear conversion, but it got out of hand.

It's not quite finished yet but getting close.

The first pic is pretty much how I got it. I'd already taken the screen and bags off though.

Stripped the back end down. After some figuring out decided on removing 5mm (sorry for the metric measurements lol) off the caliper tab on the swing arm and the same off the outside face of the caliper/axle locating arm.

Had to remove some metal from the other end of the caliper to allow clearance to the alloy wheel and some from the inside off the swing arm for pulley clearance. This metal is actually from the belt guard bracket and not the swing arm itself.

Dummy fit the rear wheel in and it all looks good and turns freely.

Time to take the primary off to change the belt.......

Primary off new belt on, primary back on and fit the wheel again to check for belt clearance. All good.

Looking like a real bike again, now with the 200mm rear end.

Took it for a quick run up the road like this to make sure all feels good.

It felt like it came from the factory that way.

Trial fit of the Softail Custom rear guard (Ebay from good ol' US of A)

Then tear it all apart again........ removed all the tins to get ready for painting.

Some where in the mix of all this I got married and went on a honeymoon.

But when we came back just so I didn't get to bored while the funds were replenished........ I started polishing stuff.

And I came across a set of 2010 Fatboy rims that were to good to pass up.

Also decided to relocate the coil and horn.

Apology's for a lot of my pics ending up on their side....... Not sure how to rectify that.

Finally got the tins back with a nice metallic blue coat on them. A huge thanks to my eldest Brother for that.

The Bad Lander seat fits nicely too.

I still have to make up some new frame horns and get them welded on.

Avon tyres and new wheel bearings first though. And chuck some new brake pads in also.

Can't friggin' wait to ride this bloody thing again.........
