Chrome inner primary

I need to put a bearing in a chrome inner primary. I don't have a press, and was told to put it in an oven to heat up so I can drop the bearing in. Can I do this with a chrome inner primary. I an concerned about heat ruining the chrome. Also, if it is ok, how high do I need to heat the oven, and how long.

A hot inner primary may be tough to manage.
I would try putting the bearing in the freezer overnight instead.
