Looking forward to your review on the shotguns as I'm considering them.
I actually have the SS on my 2008 DLX too and love them. They ride quality once dialed in is no different on the FatBoy. It rides great! If you are considering them, get them! Contact JD and ask for Forum member price. They are not cheap but as many others will testify, best $ spent on the bike to date as ride comfort with them is awesome!
As for installation, I can't say as I have had my wrench put it on both softails. I couldn't break the swingarm bolts free with what I have for tools or I would have done them myself. This bike required tapping two holes in tranny case to mount compressor. The holes were already there, just needed to be enlarged. All in all, my wrench said it wasn't bad at all.
Looks great! Any plans to ditch the turn signals in the rear for something a little cleaner?
Thanks!
I thought about this when I acquired the rear light bar and lights and decided to go with the Heritage style. I like the bullets up front and when I bought the bar for the rear, I "thought" I was getting the short bar. I may go to that in the future but I kind of like the big bar in the rear with the bigger lights. Better to see me at night. I think what might help set that off though are bag guards and the little chrome rail that attaches to the fender struts and runs down the bottom of the fender.
I don't think the bag guards will work with my exhaust. I think it's too high with the upper pipe. So, to do them would mean changing the exhaust and not ready to do that yet, if ever.
If I do change the bar, it would be to go to the smaller bar with bullets in rear too.
