Alright guys.. I'm at a loss here. Before this past Friday I had been having issues with some vibrations on decel, and harder shifting when it was hotter out or after I had ridden for a while. Had to adjust the clutch 4 times since March also. Talked to a few of my harley tech friends and they all said check my clutch. Being mechanically inclined for a living, and having torn down a handful of Harleys, I did as told. Primary cover came off, clutch got swapped for a screamin eagle kit. The OE friction discs and plates didn't look *too* bad, but also weren't brand new either. I inspected every one of them. Anyway, problem went away for a few days, until coming home from work earlier. Let me add that my engagement point changed from mid-way from the lever to just about all the way out (don't like it very much). This time the vibration is worse than it was before, and the hard shifting remained the same. I'm not sure where to go from here. Still awaiting response from my friends at the dealer. All I know is I may be putting the stock clutch back in.
This IS just my 2cts and I'm not a bike indy... But when I had to keep adjusting my clutch the throw out bearing crapped out very soon!! I would drain my tranny and look at the magnet, and take off the side cover off and check the throw out bearing and push rods...just something to check that's fairly easy to take out of the equation... good luck and let us know what you find.... swifty
