Well to be quite honest, it's called a 2:1 "merge"- not performance driven since the headers are not approx the same length.
But, that's the way they used to make them for the old pans & I like 'em.
I have convinced myself to talk to the Supertrapp people Monday morning. If I can get the answer I am looking for and if the fishtail cap will fit on the silencer system I am ordering it. This system seems to offer what I am looking for and the many positive posts about the system confirm this is what I want.
I ordered the Supermeg 2:1 system this morning from Fuelmoto.
I called Supertrapp and talked to Steve the customer service rep about my 2 choices. He did not recommend the silent series because he thought it was too restrictive. Less than stock but still more than the super meg system.
He said the length of the supermeg system ran about 6-8 inches past the axle. From the pictures I saw it looked like the end of the system stopped about the axle so this made me happier.
The only end cap that fits this system is the slant one. I wanted to have the fishtail cap so I lose there.
I am not sure I really like the megaphone look but if this system will give me the sound I am after I can live with it.
The alternative choice was the Rinehart 2:1 and I am sure even with repacking the baffle with 4 stroke material it would be louder than the Supertrapp system.
Got the Supermeg, on both my 11 softails
Not seen what year your bike is?
Great pipe, gives the flexibility for loud/quiet, while can be tuned for good power output
Just a note for folk with 12 up models, if you order the up to 11 supermeg ya get the 18mm exh sensor holes handy if ever you want to use wideband tune like Powervision, if not use step down adaptors for the stock 12mm narrow band.

Bike is a 2015. Supertrapp says the system comes ready for stock sensors. I hope they are right.
I used 16 discs per the instructions, but I also used the open cap. The sound is pretty good and can't complain about loudness when riding. I only got to ride around town to warm it up so I am not sure what it will sound like at 70.
Is there a difference in sound from open to closed cap? 16 plus or less discs?

Theres a huge difference in volume IMO. I run just 12 discs (95" motor,) with a closed end cap (I'm all about torque anyway,) and that sound for me is perfect. To each his own!
If I can ever get a chance to really ride the bike for any miles I will try and experiment with the cap and maybe a few discs. As it is right now the sound is acceptable but I don't know how much better it can be. Maybe this weekend I can find out.
