Default Exchanging 06 Heritage rear fender with 06 Deluxe rear fender - use the same brackets?

I am replacing my 2006 Heritage rear fender with a 2006 Deluxe rear fender, and although it's on it's way to me, I don't know if it will be a straight swap or not. I know that the fenders holes are the same, for looking here on the forum, but don't know about any underside brackets or hardware.

I cannot find the HD part numbers to see if the heritage ones are the same underneath, and I'd like to make sure I have all of my parts assembled for a quick swap. Any help you all can provide, I would appreciate.

Has anyone done this? I have no problem with any lighting wiring, as that's easy for me.
Also let me know of any other pitfalls to watch out for.

Should be a strait bolt over but you may have wire routing issues to consider. See attached for the R&I of the FLSTN rear fender from 2005 service manual.

Default It can be done:

You can compare fenders and mounting hardware on this parts website:

http://partsfinder.onlinemicrofiche.....asp?make=hdmc

Look to see what year the steel "horns" were bolt on vs welded on the frame.

The threaded inner supports for the fender strut bolts should be the same, you can compare part numbers.

I have a 2005 Fatboy rear fender mounted to my 2013 Slim, I used late model Struts (chrome covers and removable steel horns underneath). Source: Craigslist, I have no idea what year, but looking at the link above, late model. Bolted right up.

The tail light, license plate mount holes are different from Heritage to Deluxe. I am not sure about the turn signal light bar mount, may be in the same place?

I like the "Rocket" tail light of the HD Heritage so I went with a Fatboy fender.

My Air filter cover is from Mooneyes.

It is made for a Carb. I modified it using Joker Machine parts and a K&N filter.

Joker Machine is right around the corner from me, Moon is here in So Cal as well.

This is NOT a bolt on mod, and I suppose there are several ways to make it work. I cut 1/4" or so from the engine side of the part to fit the K&N and it gave me normal or more legroom.

Moon has matching Derby and Point covers, I planned to add them some day.
