I just bought a second ride, an '05 Deluxe with Apes. The question I have is regarding risers. The bike has 14" apes but uses the stock risers. My arms are above my shoulders when seated. I'd like to lower my bars by 2 - 3". Has anyone put aftermarket (Drag Specialties - Custom Chome) risers on their setup? Should I just get risers from a Heritage? Any comments?
I'm getting ready to install a set of 12.5" Wild1 Chubby's on my Deluxe. I bought a set of 1.5" Risers. It must be a bit wierd with Apes and Pull Back Deluxe Risers.
Go with the stock harley risers. They are like 1 inch or 1 1/4? The come stock on the wide glides and fatboys. I'm sure they come on other models as well. I think that would put the 14 inchers right where you want em! Nice bike!

Denis, how tall are you??...you look "height challenged?"..no offense...the reason Iask is I am looking into getting apes myself, a bud of mine says for my height (6'2"), I should get 16" apes but I am having a hard time deciding! Your 14" apes look big to me! What risers did you go with??
I recently put 12.5 apes on my Deuce and kept the stock pull back risers. Total height is about 17 - 18 inches. At first I was a little worried, but after about 5 miles I found they were really comfortable. Of course I am 6-3 so that made a difference.

No offense taken.
I have some updated photo I will post below.
I put the 14" bars on my wife's Deluxe with 2" riser, which puts my hands below my shoulders (see photo with blue/white deluxe). I put a set of 16" bars on my deluxe with 2" risers, which puts my hands just above shoulder height.
I would recommend the sames as your friend, go with 16". I would image that your hands are going to be just below shoulder height. I find that when I ride my wife's bike, I am more comfortable on hers than on mine (hand height/position).
