Have an 06 Deluxe with lotsa goodies. The only problem is I'm 6'1 and too low to the ground. Any suggestions on seats that will raise it up 2' or so. The HD Tallboy seat will do it but it's uuuugly.
I just picked up a Mustang Daytripper, it pushes me back anout 2", it feels like I sit a bit higher though, if you look at Calin's bike (he is 6'2" I think) you might be able to see he added extenders to the footboards, brake pedel and shifter, he also lowered his bike, his may be the perfect example of what you need to do.
Well, here I go with my first post. I just bought a Deluxe myself about a month ago. I am 6'3". I searched around on this forum quite a bit to find the solution. You will find that guys are stripping the skin off of the seat and carving out the foam to get them back further in the saddle. I think that you will find that the issue is not as much around the height as it is an issue of how far forward you sit. I was getting a lot of back pain because I could not stretch out when I was riding.
Ultimately, I went with a 17" Skirted Vintage Saddle from Mustang. I will position you about like a Heritage Softail. Mustang was great to deal with. The seat was not cheap but the quality is impressive. I just installed it last week and rode 150 miles on Saturday. I really noticed the difference. I also bought the wide passenger seat for my wife. Huge difference for her. Both of the seats are big and we are not big people but the extra comfort is nice.
That is my two cents worth and my entry into the forum. There is a lot of great information here.
