New Harleygirl
I am SmsgtB's wife,
I am new to the forum but, have been reading for a long time. My Hubby bought me a new '06 Deluxe and I am new to riding. I rode a dirt bike when I was younger with my brother. I have always loved riding but, once when riding with my Dad we had a wreck and I was scared ever since, I mean who has a wreck with your Dad???.
When I married George he always talked about having a Harley. He always said when he made Tsgt he wanted to have a Harley. Well it took a little longer but, we finally got him one. I loved riding on the back of his heritage and was very content. Then one day he mentioned it would be nice if I rode next to him. I thought how nice that would be! So once the idea was in my head I thought to myself, I can do this..... George bought me the Deluxe for Christmas, they had a black/white one here in Germany but I wanted the blue/white one. It was in the states so, it took a little longer to get here. Once it got here I was so excited to ride!!
We went to the states to see my son graduate Basic Military Training and while there I took the MSF course. It just so happens, I turned out to be the #1 in the class!!! (I was so excited) Then we got home and I just got out the and started riding. In the traffic and everything!!! Since then I have about 300 miles under my belt. I love riding behind George and I am getting better every time. I can't wait for the day until I am as good as he is!
I have this problem where after about 20 minutes of riding, my left shoulder/neck region hurts really bad. We have to fix this really soon! We are looking into getting new bars to see if that will help.
So I just want to say hello and I am so glad this forum is here, you have helped us a lot and this is a great family!!! So thanks for all your help and hope to be hearing from all of y'all soon.

Heck fire, can't flirt that way, specially when it's a military man's wife![:@]
Yeah, the new bars will help, plus, don't tense up, as that will only make things worse.
Welcome to the forum from beautiful downtown Lebanon, MO.

1 learned to relax and not tense up, especially in the grip.
2 Tilted the bars a hair downward so my hands seem to be in a more natural position.
3 added a Mustang Wide Vintage seat with rider's backrest.
The first two changes are cheap and won't cost you anything. Let me know if things improve.
