No this isn't about the recall. I have an aftermarket Dakota Digital gauge and all the sudden my gas light just stays on constantly. The Gauge has a range feature as well and that always reads "low." Is the sensor just broke and nees replaced? HD dealership wants $130 to just check it out. That's why I'm stopping here first.

 

Take the mechanism out of the tank and inspect it to see if the float or anything else is getting hung up on itself.

 

After I put the Dakota on my Rcker, gas light comes on just before little lights on my flush mount gauge says half. My Dakota doesn't do DTE like stock gauge did. I just live with it and go by flush mount gauge and really by resetting the trip meter every fill up. Never trusted the DTE anyhow
