Default 14" Apes on a Slim

Can I use the stock risers and clamp for apes? Some bar web sites say you have to change risers and clamp, just wondering why? Thanks

It depends on the diameter of the clamping area of the bar. Your risers and clamps are for 1" diameter bars. If you go with bars that have a 1" diameter clamping area you can use stock clamp and risers. If you get 1.25 or 1.5" you will need the appropriate risers and clamp.

Ya, I realize that, but if I go to Wild One Inc. and look at there bars that have a 1" dia. they still say for a Slim that new risers and clamp is required. Just wondering if anyone uses the original risers and clamp. Thanks

Might also have to do with the clamp width

Depending on the bar diameter whether you need new risers. Some bars have a stepped down version. My tw cents: Dropping coin on a new set of nice bars, do not skimp on the risers. Always upgrade the bushings to the polys.

I did not spare the coin on the bars or bushings. but right now I am trying to know if 2015 1 1/2 inch risers will work. La choppers makes some that look like they will work and I learned that 2015 and newer are similar, but im asking the collective mind of this forum to help me make an informed decision.
