I bought a 2012 slim last week from the original owner. Bike had 432 miles on it. Has V&H pipes, SE air kit, stage 1 dealer download, and a daymaker LED headlight. Never dropped or crashed. Owner didn't use it (obviously) and needed money for his business. I picked it up for $7500. Not bad!
I put fresh fuel in it and rode it home. I realized I would need to change out the bars as I was not comfortable with the stock ones. So after doing a fluid change and going over the bike, I started my search. I found the Bitwell Breezer handlebar. Has anyone swapped theirs out to these? If so did you need any wire extenders or have to lengthen the clutch or brake cable?
Before you beat me up about google search is my friend, I did search the forums and read many postings about this. But I am asking specif questions and I couldn't find the answer. Thanks for any information/replies.
Can't answer your question about those bars, but congrats on the steal.
You got a practically brand-new bike for less than half of what he paid for it...
The stock Slim bars were not comfortable for me either.
I installed some Biltwell Breezers and risers on a newer Fatboy a year or two ago. If I remember correctly they were 9 or 10" total rise but the final rise was around 5 or 6" because the grips angle down like some of the Santee bars. I got by with the stock cables and brake line but used a Namz wire extension. The guy came back within a few months for another bar change because the grip angle was uncomfortable to him.
Congrats on the new sled, looks killer! It will run better and cooler if you ditch the canned map.

I appreciate the response and it sounds like you have some experience with bars, grip angle, etc. I am 5'08", 29 inch inseam, 32 inch arms (think T-Rex). I have had two tumors cut out of my left wrist so I am looking for a neutral grip angle. Any suggestions?

Not an expert by far but do have some experience. I like the vertical angle of Torch Industries bars personally, some do not. Horizontal angle on any riser mounted bar can be changed by racking the bars forward or back, pullback of the bar will limit this. I find many riders your size find comfort on a Slim with stock bars and Harley pullback risers, thinking Jam did this on his Slim. Finding the right bars can get expensive, I have a few sets decorating the shop wall myself.
Damn, I thought I got a decent Deal when I got mine for $11k. I am taller with long arms and the stock bars didn't do it for me either. I felt hunched over the bars all of the time. Congrats on a great deal.
