Hey Steve!!

Your bike looks better each time I log on here! I was just on the Chicago HD web site trying to order a sissy bar and detachable side plates (which is a lot more confusing than I thought trying to get the right part numbers etc etc)... anyway my question is:

1) Do we need the turn signal relocation kit to fit the detachable side plates?
2) Where do you relocate the turn signals to? I was just looking at the photo of your bike and I am buggered if I can see them

As for forward controls, have paid and am just waiting for Troy to send all the bits... spent over $2k AUS and got every bit he listed including the flame / cross shift rod so should look nice. Got my Vance and Hines Big Radius and PCIII USB already and am now just waiting for the forward controls and the Kuryakyn hypercharger to arrive. I ordered the Infinity streamliner LED thing for it too but couldn't find any video on youtube of one installed so I hope I don't look like one of those tossers who puts a Knight rider / Battlestar Galactica Cyclon eye looking thing on the front of their car.... otherwise it's coming straight off !!

So all I got do now is get a height adjustable air shock to lower the back and a set of wheels. I am thinking of either spokes or the ones like in the one pictured below. Let me know what you think!

By your command <robotic cylon voice implied>

Regards,
DeanO

dmac, call the parts department and speak to Eric, he just did the whole sissy bar thingy for me. The sig relocation is just moving them an inch backwards, you gotta do that for the 07 fatty.

You also need the special fittings that go on the fender struts.

Whole setup is nice.

Dont do the sissy bar thing from HD... cept maybe the top part..(pad and bar thing) but the sideplates.. get from Bubba's brake..

dont ask me why he calls it bubbasbrake...

http://www.bubbasbrake.com/xcart/pro...251&page=1

and for the T/S relocation well...

Id get either the Laydown licence plate with T/S mount holes in them from Bubba or Kuryakan..

Kuryakan also has strut mounted LED bullets.. which are sweet and BRIGHT a pic of em in my gallery(lit)

the HD T/S rear relocation kit the one with the Strut Extenders is nothing short of FUGLY.
there is one other relocation kit from HD, makes the T/S straight out ..little round peg thing...its ok I guess...

Hey Stoneman, sorry for jacking up your thread..

Hmm have you checked if you have that electrical grease on your bulbs socket thing.. it could help.
Can usually wipe it off an old bulb to the new one, or you can buy a tube of it from HD or badger the service guys at a HD shop or indi to put a dab on.

Also the bulb could need changeing it could be the bulb itself, sometimes they go bad, and the running lights dont stay on or the ts part doesnt work.. or such
Just remember that grease stuff (serious)

I have replaced the bulbs i have put the dielectric greese on the bulb and in the T/S. I have checked all the wires several times. If you push the left turn signal it comes on it just wont flash. You push in again and it goes out as it should. So I can keep pushing it to get it to flash but like i said earlier i have a arm and it cost nothing to use. Screw the Steelers

FUGLY ain't the word dude. They're horrible. Can't believe it just took me over 4 hours to do the relocation, and I'm still not even finnished. Splicing wires, using heat guns. Man, what the hell is this, for 1/2 a lousy inch on the stock supports.

Man, I'm thinking maybe I should just cut into them and be done with it, then I'm thinking I gotta re-cut all the wires again etc. etc.

Should have listened to this post and sent the damn things back as soon as they arrived.

Drive me nuts. [:@]

why are you recloating your rear T/S ? you have bags on... Demkay.... and enough room from the looks of em...

and the FUGLY part of em is they extend the chrome strut there about an inch PAST your fender.. so they stick out...

Neah, it's to get the quick detachable sideplates on and off. At the moment they are held on with a "bungee nut" at the back which by some miracle works and at the front of the plate, under the bag, they are tied in with zip ties to the fender support. You just can't see them.

In order to put the proper nuts on the fender struts which hold the sideplates in place you also need to relocate the T/S's. Because the support for the turn signal in too damn wide. (By like 1/4 of an inch) F'ing ridiculous.

As you said they are now supported by an ugly stud like thing, but because it's thin the sideplates now fit. But it looks horrible compared to the nice thick support the stock one has. And yeah, it does stick out. Looks completely stupid.

Whatever, ....... took me like an hour to more or less finish the job. Plus the 4 hours I mentioned in the last post. POS, unbelievable, burnt my freakin' finger on that stupid hair dryer thing. Then dropped a spanner on the red battery when the damn neg was just touching it's terminal, but supposed to be disconnected. .....made me jump like 4 feet, landed on a light bulb thing I just bought that can be suspended etc, .....broke it.

Then because the damn stud has that locite stuff on it couldn't undo it due to putting another thing on the wrong way round.

Had to go out and buy 2 new connectors 'cuz i screwed them up and the wires came out. Ain't lovin' it at the moment.
