What would you consider a out the door price for blk Softail slim to be a good fair deal at this time of year? New no upgrades , I won't share the offers I've received or who from until I've purchased the bike , to be respectful of the dealers I'm working with. Just want opinions of price . Thank for any consideration forum members.
I would just get on the internet and start looking at the inventory for all Harley Dealers within a 1/2 day's drive.
Find out who's got the bike you're looking for and start working a deal over e-mail/phone.
Once you feel you've gotten the best deal go get the bike.
It depends on the dealer and which part of the country you're in. A slow moving area will get you a better price. So, asking here won't be much benefit. As someone else said you need to shop dealers within an area that's acceptable to you to travel to pick it up.
Odds are the new engine will be available in softails and dynas next year. That could affect the value of the bike pretty quickly. That being said if you think you got a good deal and you're happy, go for it.
I just bought my wife a 16 Deluxe for 800 over invoice, which was right at 3K under msrp. We were looking at a 16 Slim originally, but it was at a dealer that was over 3 hours away and it didn't have ABS on it. They were asking 12500 for that bike, no abs or security, vivid black color.
Well I desided to talk to the dealer today about the offer he made me via email conversations. When we talked on the phone today it was only the Softail Slim not the S. It is still a good price but the dealer today was less than honest . I'm old school , will never deal with dealership again.
