i have just purchased a genuine harley mini tach, problem is i have figured out where the pink wire is under the speedo on my 2001 fatboy but no instructions came with the tach. the wires on the tach are Black, Green and Red. i assume the green is the signal wire as the black being earth and red do power up the light when the ignition is switched on. Unfortunately putting the green wire to the Pink under the speedo doesnt make the tach work. Please someone help me figure this out
I never used the pink wire If I remember Black is Ground, Red goes to Positive and Green to Negitive. See I think my wires on tach where Red,Blue and Black I will check
seems as if i have the wiring right, black to earth, red to lighting power and green to the pink wire under the speedo but still not working. i either have a faulty tach or its the wrong model for a 2001 fatboy. the box does state its for a 2004 onward but i've been told that doesnt matter by the person i bought it from on ebay. Who knows?
