Default Progressive Suspension??

Whats up everyone? I have a question. I have a 2004 Heritage Softail that the previous owner had lowered. It looks cool but the ride sucks bad! The front suspension is waaaay to soft and the rear is to harsh. Do the front forks have an air assist? Can i replace thefork oil with a heavier weight and at a higher level and make it a little better? They bottom out over sharp hits pretty easy. I hear the progressive spriongs make a world of differnce. Who here has done both front and rear? Was it worth the money spent?

As for the rear, how do i tell how its lowered? I see there are cheap kits or shocks you can buy. If its just a kit i will remove it and get the ride height back and make it a little better till i replace it all.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!

I used the Progressive 413, now 422 I believe, shocks. There's a lot of adjustment built into these shocks between height and rebound you can get a much better than stock ride. On the front I used the Progressive springs and Race Tech gold cartridge emulator valves. Big difference with the valves when you shift and brake. Does away with the soft mushy feel and amount of travel that is inherent with the stock harley set up. Even if you don't lower the front end I would recommend the emulator valves to beef up the hydraulics on your bike. Lowered my bike about 1 1/2" front and rear. You gotta hit a big *** hole to get it to bottom out 2 up. I ride the n. Ga. mountains alot and this set up has made the train real fun to ride. We do alot of 2-300 mile days and have no complaints with this combination of parts.
