May God bless you for caring for your family. You certainly have your priorities in order. As difficult as this time is for you it is even harder for them. Prayers sent
I'm a new(er) member and didn't get the pleasure of chatting with you in the past but look forward to reading your post from this day forward and it's good to see you back around and posting on the forum. My thoughts are with you and your Family... Wishing you peace and comfort.
Hello Peg, yes the wife and I both took care of our parents when the time arrived. It is something that the NEW generation does not know about, they just want to shovel them off to the rest home. So kudos to you for stepping up and caring for them. This will come beck to you in spades in the future. As god always rewards a good deed.
Peg, prayers to you, your Mom and your Dad. I lost my Mom nearly 10 years age after a long, crippling struggle with cancer. Even if you think you are prepared for it, when it happens you will be crushed. That is only natural. Allow yourself the time to grieve. I don't think it ever gets easier, we just learn to deal with it better.
You are a good person, this will come back to you in many good ways. Godspeed to you my friend.
Thanks again everyone, this is what I so love about the motorcycle culture. It's like brothers and sisters.
My mom is expected to pass this weekend. I've been there every day holding her hand, stroking her face, and thought I was prepared, but you never are as much as you think you are.
It will be a difficult weekend. I read each and every post here, and I thank you all.

There is no way to ever prepare for this, even when we know it's imminent. Soon mom will have her health restored and she will suffer no more. God Bless you for being with her in her final moments. As a nurse I hear so many people say the thing about death that scares them the most is passing alone
Update: mom passed March 2. I was devastated but at the same time happy she was free and her struggles were over. I now take care of dad who has terminal cancer. Tomorrow (July 2, 2017) I am taking dad on a bucket ride. He does not know, but I have 12 bikes and a police escort coming. They are coming to honor dad for his Korean War service. I rented a Tri Glide for the week so I could take him safely. It's going to be great!
Two local newspapers will be covering the event. They are going to interview him at the destination. He has no idea of any of this. I am so excited!

Good job Peg! Your devotion is admirable and I wish more children cared for their parents this way.
