Default 1993 Springer Soft Tail

My girls springer is having trouble starting, and I think it's the starter relay. I located it behind the rear fender, attached to the mud deflector. Anybody out here ever changed the relay from this location? Do I have to remove the rear tire?

Mines a little cube relay throttle side, up near the battery.

I didn't have to remove the tire on mine. I jacked the frame up so the rear tire was hanging down. It gave me more clearance to remove the 4 bolts and wiggle the plastic deflector down and away. That'll give you the ability to work on drilling out the fastening rivet on your bench and attaching a new relay with a nut and bolt.
