Its a 2006 but this seat was given to me I'm not sure of the year it will fit and has the riders rest but the latch to fold it forward is broke but the cable is still good.
OK, I breezed through Dodge City HD parts online and looked at several different model years Softail Heritages, but did not see any seats with a latch like that. I wasn't aware any Softail models had a latch. does the other side of the seat have hinges to allow you to swing the seat and access the battery kinda like an FXR? Do you have a Heritage Softail or was I way off base with the search?
Does anybody know where to find a new drivers seat latch on a softail seat. I checked Harley and they dont list a part. No luck on ebay
I believe what you have is a Harley Sigature Series Seat p/n 51562-00.
I think they stopped selling that model of seat around 2008 or so.
When I was shopping for a used replacement seat for my 09 Heritage I found a number of seats like you have with the side level.
After some research I found that the reason Harley quit selling that seat was a problem with the plastic levers breaking off which appears is the problem with the seat you have.
I ended up buying the replacement model of seat where-as that level assemble was removed.
I think that maybe Saddleman's may have made that seat so you might try them but I doubt you will find a replacement part.
I have a 2006 softail standard the seat actually bolts on the side too. It was free and I love the softail writing on the side of it . Also I'm looking for the smooth look now fringe or raised stitching. Thank You

I might shoot saddkeman a email and see I would try to repair it but the plastic is brittle. I maybe could build on out of steel but I don't have all the equipment to make one out of light steel. Thank you

I put a Saddleman Gel seat with the driver backrest on my 03 Heritage and I love it. The Gel made it as hard as a brick for the first 100 miles or so, but once my fat *** crushed it down and molded it, man it's comfy.
I know this is a 3 yr old post but if anyone is still looking for a replacement part for this Back Rest Actuator there is a company called Shapeways that now 3D prints this part and sells them for about $30. I know this because I too had this part brake and searched the world over with no luck. If the link does not work perform a search for Shapeways Back Rest Actuator Housing.
