Default Saddlebag locks

I have a 2012 Heritage and I just bought the HD saddlebag locks. The thing is they came with no instructions on how to install them. Does anyone have a link I can go to for them or know where I can get them? Any help appreciated!

Interesting. I happen to have a 2012 Heritage as well. I have attached a pdf file that is for the saddlebag support and lock kit. Installation of the locks begins on step 4.

Read the instructions and make sure it applies to the locks you have. It should. I have attached a picture of my saddlebag to show what the finished installation should look like.

Good luck.

Did the you buy the kit that goes with the flat top kit or did you buy just the saddlebag lock kit?

If you bought the saddlebag lock kit then you can download the instructions from the HD website.

Yea as you know there's another active thread concerning saddlebag locks.
I've been researching saddlebag locks for a while now.

The one thing that concerns me about the HD lock kit is how difficult it might be to align the lock and the receiver.
It looks to me that it might be a pain in the ***.

I think if I had gone with the HD stiffener kit like you did, the lock set that goes with it would be a no brainer.
That lock kit seems to have some "wiggle" room between the lock and the receiver piece.

I went with the gotsaggybags stiffener kit and I'm not a fan of the padlock kit they sell that goes with that.
Also since I have a tour pak, I would like something to lock that up.

I'm fairly certain I'm ordering the Inertia WRX kit for the tour pak but the $131 price tag for the saddlebags is dragging on me from pulling the trigger.
If I order all three locks at the same time Inertia will key them all the same which is certainly preferred.
Also, the Inertia saddlebag locks double as helmet locks so that's kinda nice.

Anyway, it's only money right

I just installed the flat top and lock kit this weekend. It's not too hard, but my advice is to put the bags back on the bike before putting on the lock plate. I put mine on with them off the bike, and had to drill out the ricvits and move them. The rail part of the hardtop kit change the position enough that I didn't like how they lined up.

My only issue is I'm not real sure how well the plastic will hold to the lid. I may try a different stronger glue if it pulls off.

The gotsaggybags kit came with E6000 adhesive.
I've had the lid supports on for over 4 years and there's been no issues.

I've used the E6000 since then to fix many things to include a plastic snowblower deflection chute and I'm impressed with it.
