I think then you are good with the standard 422s.
Once you get them adjusted correctly you should be able to just leave them be.

I think you'll certainly notice an improvement.

Since I weight 170 lbs, riding one-up would indicate minimum pre-load - correct?

Or would my riding style have an impact on pre-load?

If I ride in a more spirited manner, would I want a little pre-load?

I plan to set it at maximum height. I am assuming that maximum height will give it maximum ability to work best.

I would make the adjustment just like the stock shocks.
As for adjustment for more aggressive riding I'll have to leave it to others to render an opinion on that.

Here's the adjustment procedure for the stock shocks.

New front and rear installed. Much firmer and smoother ride. Set up as recommended for my weight at OEM height. Shocks allow going 1 inch higher than OEM. Going with recommended setting for now. Will see how it rides. So far I am happy with it, but only 20 miles so far.
