The "Bright-***-Light Bal-1 "is an excellent tail light. It is programmable with a little magnet that you use to change the flashing function. If you like to be seen, this is the tail light for you. They are a bit pricey, $199 for the basic model however, your getting the whole tail light that is a simple plug-and-play. It also come with anti-theft screws that I think is an excellent addition.

I believe that being charged up front is normal. If an item is backordered, they normally offer you to option to get your money back.

All this supply chain mayhem is caused by the sorry excuse of a leader we have today. We have to work around it.

Custom Dynamics seems like a decent company. When they wouldn't guarantee the fit of their lights on my Road King, I took another route.
