I took a 2017 for a test ride yesterday and it had a digital tach blinking the RPM. That's why I wondered if this is the first year for it.
How did you like the 2017? What color would you get if you were buying a new one?
I am seriously considering a new Heritage and I like the 2 tone blue with the painted Harley tank emblem. It seems to be the most comfortable bike for me just as it comes. I don't need to buy bars or a new seat. All I need to do is ride it.
Hmmm, none of the 17 specs actually call it a tach. From HD specs.....
"The speedometer face boasts a big, bold display for the odometer, along with an ancillary display for gear and rpm, offering up the information you need on the fly."
Here is the analog speedometer tach for 2017. This is what I have on my 09 too.
For the past few years the variou families of H-D bikes that don't come with a standard tach have the gear and rpm in the lcd odometer and trip meter display to scroll though. Not an actual instrument just a display that the ECM creates. I want to say 2013. I think many do not even know that the data is there.
