My 12 Heritage had the tach display. When did the Heritage go to 6 speed and 103? Was it 2012 or 2011? I'm thinking that's the year the tach display was added. But it was useless really you'd have to spend too long waiting for it to roll past the display by which time you had already changed gears and kept your eyes off the road for too long.
2011 with a 96 has the digital tach. I did not use mine for upshifting, but I did glance at it when cruising in a selected gear. I don't have this on my current RK and now realize how much I looked at it on my Heritage.
How did you like the 2017? What color would you get if you were buying a new one?
I am seriously considering a new Heritage and I like the 2 tone blue with the painted Harley tank emblem. It seems to be the most comfortable bike for me just as it comes. I don't need to buy bars or a new seat. All I need to do is ride it.
I bought a 17 Heritage with 1,700 miles on it in Nov of 20. Promptly caught Covid 3 weeks later in Dec/20 which kept me in the hospital till April/21 and did not ride till again the spring of 22. Who said God doesnt have a sense of humor. Anyway on the 17 Heritage Superior Blue, it provides everything I want, going for a ride on the hi-ways no problem. I did add the fangs to the frt forks to stop some helmet buffering. Want to cruise through town no problem. I just remove the windshield, take off the misses back seat and with its lighter weight it is much easier in town then any Glide or King. It is the best of both worlds🤗. IMHO
