Default Hello,new guy from NY

I found it so I am posting it here too.

Guys/gals.
I'm new to this site.My bike has been in storage for the winter in the shed but I try to fire it up for a few minutes every 2 weeks. It's always on a battery tender during storage. The other day I go out, ignition on,lights bright, cranks 2-3 times then starts clicking. Battery load tested at 2 different places, they said it was good. Also, normally hear fuel prime, not been hearing that.I would appreciate any help[/QUOTE]

It's the general consensus that it's really not necessary to start it during the winter. Especially for only a few minutes. Not really getting it hot enough to evaporate the moisture out of the mufflers, etc.
Also, in a NY winter the cold might have the oil pretty thick to try to crank it over enough to start. Sorry I don't have much info for you, but maybe if you post some more specifics about your bike in a signature some others will happen along with some good insights for you.

Welcome from NY. Yes you should not start your bike in the cold that often, I'm betting that battery is no good, regardless of what a load test says.

Greetings from Upstate NY! You didn't mention what type of battery tender you're using, but I can tell you that the cheap Harbor Freight types aren't going to do your battery any good, especially if you go out and start your bike every few weeks. They just don't have the ***** to recharge your battery in between starts, so it slowly gets weaker. Try putting a good 2-10 amp automatic charger on it for a day or two - it may come back to life. Also, does it have the security system on it? If so, you'd want to store it with a tender that can supply at least 1 amp, and better yet, use a computerized tender that also desulfates while it's connected. Using a cheap battery tender will cost you more $$ in the long run than it's worth.

Check connections, if tight, replace the battery.
Batteries can test good and be bad.
