Just bought a new 05 Heritage Classic 3 months ago,and have 3000 or so miles. This is my 4th Harley( others were flhrci's,and an fxdl) I have rubbed the footboards 3 times on the right and once on the left.Don't want to raise the boards...Knees would be in my chin...Any suggestions?
My wife had the same problem when she went from a Lowrider to the Hertiage. The right seems worse than the left. Don't know what to do about it. She just slowed down a little.
Guess you've figured out the lean angle on the Sloptails is less than on the others. If you can move the footboards forward by modifying them so a single mounting bracket is in the middle of the boards, and fastening it to the forward mount on the bike, you'll get more clearance. I modified mine for more legroom, and the extra clearance was a bonus.
I have an 02 FLSTC and the previous owner lowered it. I need to raise it back to at least stock ride height because it drags the boards so bad. I love the bike but also like to ride twisties and sweepers.
Anyone know how invovled this can this get?

I had heard that someone makes an angled footboard that is supposed to give you a little more clearance. Anyone know anything about it? I too am having clearance problems on my Fatboy. I've only had it a few weeks and I'm already grinding the sides down. Bad habit's from my crotch rocket days.....
