Default Suspension question

I am putting some leather bags on my 2010 Deluxe. I want to make sure they dont hit the axle nut while riding. Does anyone know the travel of the rear suspension? How far does that axle move?

Thanks!

Suspension travel kinda depends on weight and how your shock preload is adjusted. No preload has lots of travel, maximum preload has minimal travel

Approximately 3". Good idea to pop rivet a steel plate in the area of the axel nuts and extend the plates for full travel. Some bags come so equiped

Thanks Snowyone! Great idea with the plate. I have them placed at about 3 1/2" above the nut and they seem a little higher than I would like.
